Help! The Search for Randa Jawhari Continues.

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

We have opened the “Randa Jawhari Benefit Fund” at the State Bank. All proceeds will help my family to further help in the search of my sister Randa Jawhari, who as you know has been missing since Feb., 11th, 2009. You can mail a check or money order to:

The State Bank
Attn: Mail Teller

You may also make a deposit at any State Bank locations.

Thank you for your continued support, my family and I appreciate all of you that have helped in Randa’s search, brought food, given us a shoulder to lean on and continue to pray for my family. May God’s blessings be upon you. May the peace of God rest upon you and your loved ones.

Randa Jawhari Missing Since 2/10/09

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Randa Jawhari, who has gone missing since Tuesday evening (Feb. 10, 2009), approx. 11:30 pm.

Randa (pronounced Ron-da) has bipolar but has been on her meds and stable. Her mother was with her Tuesday night and laid out her clothing for the next day. But the last time anyone saw her was that night around 11:30 pm on W. Shiawassee in Fenton (she lived in an apartment complex on this road). She was wearing a blue bathrobe…(believed, as the robe was no where to be found in the apartment and she hadn’t put on any of the clothes that had been laid out).

She’s 5’1″, approx. 100 pounds with dark brown hair, dark brown eyes. She’s beautiful. She is a smoker (and all of her cigarettes were left behind at the apartment). She’s 42 years old. She has family in Michigan and in Ohio.

Anyone who has information should contact the Fenton Police at (810) 629-5311

Video from the June 2008 Fenton, Michigan Storm

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

We covered the damage caused by the storm from June 8, 2008 with a few startling pictures of the damage. Now FentonSays has come across some video posted on YouTube with video of the damage caused by the intense storm in Fenton, MI.

Big Wind Storm Hits Fenton, June 2008

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Fenton June 2008 Storm DamageNearly eleven months after the big tornado ripped up downtown Fenton, Michigan and much of the Dibbleville area, a sizable storm with strong winds takes out trees and property on the north side of the city.  At approximately 4:45 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2008 a heavy storm line brought destruction and loss of power to many Fenton area residents.  Power may be out for a few days as temperatures climb well into the 80′s.

Fenton Michigan Storm Damage 2008Tree limbs are torn from their sturdier tree bases and crush the white picket fence along South Long Lake Road on the north side of town.  The street is open to traffic now, though splinters of wood along the road and piles of brush along the road still show evidence that this was no small rain storm.

Wind Storm Damage June 2008 Fenton

Smith, Peabody and Stiles Insurance along Torrey Road in Fenton did not get hit, but their property lost a couple of very large trees.  The dark areas you see in the photo are the root bases of these very tall trees which span the length of approximately two cars each.

Democrat Party Disenfranchises Michigan Voters in Presidential Primary!

Friday, January 11th, 2008

The Presidential Primary in Michigan is rapidly approaching. You can cast your votes on January 15, 2008. But quite possibly you are NOT ALLOWED to vote for your favorite candidate!! This is serious, folks.

In an earlier article on FentonSays.com we have available for view the preliminary primary ballots. If you take a look, you’ll notice that Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, and former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina are NOT on the Democrat Primary ballot. Not only aren’t they on the ballot, but if you decide to try to write them in … YOUR VOTE WILL BE THROWN OUT.

Read that last sentence again … if you decide to try to write-in your favorite Democrat candidate for President YOUR VOTE WILL BE THROWN OUT.

“If there’s no campaign, the candidate most likely to win Michigan is Hillary Clinton,” Bill Schneider said. “Her Democratic rivals don’t want a Clinton victory in Michigan to count. They want Iowa and New Hampshire, where they have a better chance of stopping Clinton, to count more.”

If you are a Democrat in Michigan, the DNC (Democratic National Committee) has basically made your choice for you … Hillary Clinton will be your nominee for President (you don’t really think the other guys on the ballot stand a chance, do you?). We have a female socialist as Governor of Michigan, and Michigan’s “choice” for the Democrat nominee will also be another female socialist. What is going on, people?!?!

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!

Tornado Picture Video from Neighboring Eaton County

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

FentonSays reader, Kent, shares with us his video montage of the the August 24th storm from neighboring Eaton County. Though not specific to Fenton, Michigan, this piece is still important as it captures the devastation we in south east Michigan experienced on that day. It is during times like these that neighbors pull together for the greater common good. And it is in this light that the storm and periodic tornadoes of 8/24/07 produced heroes more so than tragedies.

“This is a compilation video of the area where my daughter and son-in-law live. Her house is the one with the trees laying on it. They were home with their 6 year old daughter when the tornado hit. No injuries. They live just north of Charlotte MI.

Today marks the sixth year since the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Many lives were lost that day. Many lives have been lost since seeking justice. Brave men and women of the New Greatest Generation continue to put their own lives at risk to help spread freedom and promote stability around the world. Regardless of your own political affiliations, we ask that you take a just a minute for a moment of silence today to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.

Fenton Tornado Community Center Clean-Up

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

The still shot to the left was taken from “The Streets of Fenton” video series shot on July 11, 2007 … weeks before the tornado struck. The picture is of the front of the Community Center with the building off camera to the right. Notice all the lush trees on the horizon on the right. They are now gone.

This video footage presented below was shot on Friday, August 31, 2007 out front of the Community Center in Fenton, MI. Clean up efforts from the tornado continue, but the town has been returned to basically normal status. The area by the Shiawassee River on the south side of the Community Center used to be covered in trees, but is an open clearing now. People work on top of the Community Center. Heavy equipment is being used.

"New Trees, Please!"

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

“I am a teacher in Fenton at Tomek-Eastern Elementary and the Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation Board in Fenton. Because of the horrible devastation in the downtown city parks (O’Donnell Park, Rackham Park and Millpond Park) in the recent tornado, the teachers at our school are spearheading a drive with the children to fund new trees in the park. Our effort is called “New Trees, Please!”

We will be talking with our classes this coming week and collecting donations at school and around the community all year long. We are hoping to have some new trees planted next spring. We are, of course, very grateful that injuries from the tornado were few, but the loss of so many 100 year old trees is a great loss to the city. It is so sad, but we hope to make a difference. I have a Powerpoint display or individual pictures that I took of the storm and also of the parks during July of this year. I was working on collecting pictures for a webpage for the parks so I have both before and after pictures of the parks.

Donations will be gladly accepted at Tomek-Eastern Elementary at 600 Fourth St. Fenton, Michigan 48430. Thank you for any publicity you can give to this cause.”

We started to catch quick video clips here and there when the magnitude of the devastation started to become apparent.

This two minute and ten second video is a clip montage of the first part of the aftermath of the Fenton tornadoes of 2007. This footage was taken roughly after 6:00 p.m. on the evening of August 24, 2007.
