Parade will start at West & Shiawassee St.

· West on Hickory St.

· North on Beach St.

· East on Wood St.

· End at St. John Catholic Church

Joseph Upset About Long Contruction Time Projections for Silver Lake Road in Fenton

Frustrations run higher each day the construction along Silver Lake Road progresses. Some feel the crew is working as quickly as they can; other FentonSays readers think things should be wrapped up sooner than we are lead to expect. Business owners along Silver Lake Road and making efforts to let local shoppers and customers know that they are still open for business. The Chamber of Commerce is working closely with these businesses as well to see how that organization might be able to lend a hand.

One FentonSays reader submitted the following:

“I would like to know why Silver Parkway construction will not be completed until November according to a source? This is ridiculous and a waste of tax payers money. This construction site usually does not work or seems to work at a “snails pace”. I am aware that road work usually milks the time it takes to complete the work in order to maintain more funding but when it affects other’s who is really benefiting? If the roads were “properly” done the first time meaningless days, week’s and months would not be needed to complete a job. I suppose everyone needs to create job security but it should not affect everyone else.” – Joseph

Virtual Drive West on Silver Lake Road During 2008 Fenton Construction

This treat is a drive westbound on Silver Lake Road starting from the Leroy Street intersection until the majority of this major road construction in Fenton subsides near Steven’s Furniture. This is a three and a half minute ride down the road you don’t want to go down right now. This footage was taken on April 24, 2008.

According to the City of Fenton, the Silver Lake Road detour will be going into effect April 17, 2008. The road will commence one-way traffic westbound. Please plan accordingly and mind traffic laws when using the side-streets and back-roads.

Snow Removal Procedures For Fenton Township Roads

“After large snowfalls the Fenton Township office receives numerous telephone calls regarding the removal of snow from roads within the Township. Snow plowing for all public roads and many private roads in Fenton Township is done by the Genesee County Road Commission. The Road Commission maintenance crew that services Fenton Township is also responsible for Argentine, Gaines and Mundy Townships, totaling over 500 miles of roads.”

Fenton Tornado: Special "Streets of Fenton" Video Tour – Dibbleville Tornado

This is the first footage we took right after the storm and tornadoes blew through town. Many of the downed power lines were already being sectioned off and traffic being re-routed, however we somehow managed to work our way northbound through Dibbleville into downtown Fenton, Michigan. We started to catch quick video clips here and there when the magnitude of the devastation started to become apparent.

This two minute and ten second video is a clip montage of the first part of the aftermath of the Fenton tornadoes of 2007. This footage was taken roughly after 6:00 p.m. on the evening of August 24, 2007.

Fenton Tornado: Special "Streets of Fenton" Video Tour – South Adelaide

Work crews continue clean up effort in Fenton, Michigan today after a tornado ripped through parts of town the evening of August 24, 2007. In this special edition of the “Streets of Fenton” video tour, we are showing footage of South Adelaide on the day after the tornado. We start up around the Fenton Intermediary School (FIS) and continue south through the corner where the French Laundry and Rockwell are, then almost up to High Street.

We also wanted to share with you some photos by Art Parnell that we found posted at another web site.
